Flash CS5 to iPhone

Rumor has it that Flash artist can develop native iPhone application using Adobe Flash Professional CS5. It will include the packager for iPhone. The packager for iPhone allows developers to use Flash Technologies to develop content for iPhone, it’s a native iPhone executables, just like any other iPhone application.

Adobe Flash Professional CS5 will enable this by using Low Level Virtual Machine (LLVM), and it allowed LLVM to understand ActionScript 3. Basically, Flash artist who familiar with ActionScript will capable to develop iPhone Application.

This is a few consideration of building iPhone application using Adobe Flash Professional CS5:

  • Build the application on your desktop. The display have to fit iPhone screen size (320 X 480), 20px are considered for status bar.
  • Finger is your pointing device. You can use mouse events or/and touch events to track the user’s purpose.
  • Performance. This is the critical step of developing iPhone application. You have to optimize your application to make sure it will work efficiently.

Some might say, Adobe Flash Professional CS5 will be released April 2010.

UPDATED: “Apple’s new iPhone 4.0 SDK license now blocks cross-compiled third party apps, such as those built from Flash CS5.” So – Bye-bye Flash Artist :D

A couple days ago I met some iPhone programmer, and we talked about some new technology in iPhone application industry. He showed me a video about “Augmented Reality” (AR). The application called “Bionic Eye” and it is available on App Store.

This cool application showed us about how to find stores within the iPhone 3GS’ camera. I swear, this is the coolest iPhone application for now and thanks to him to showed us this coolest video. For some of you haven’t seen the video, please seat back and relax to enjoy this following video:

How was it? Feel hayseed? Hahaha.. What have you seen is a combination reality and virtual. The main components for augmented reality are: camera with video capabilities, GPS, accelerometer, and compass. furthermore, some of the components are available only in iPhone 3GS.

iPhone Developer Program

As a developer we are simplified with iPhone developer program, from coder to users. That’s what I am thinking.

There are two programs for iPhone developer offered by Apple:

  • Standard program ($99)
  • Enterprise program ($299)

Standard program is divided into two sub-program (Individual and Company), so what makes it different? I can say it is all about “iTunes connect access” and “seller name appearance on AppStore”.

For now, I am using Standard Individual program in my beetlebox account.

Back to the Standard and Enterprise program. basically, the difference between those programs will be shown in the following table:

List Box

No need to explain more about the difference between those programs rite?.. :P It’s all about how they distribute the apps (App Store or In-house).

Hope this bullshit is useful for you, geek! :D
